Atalanta boss, Ivan Juric, has claimed that Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman’s failed summer move to Inter Milan was the result of “bad advice” from people close to the Nigerian forward.
Lookman attempted to engineer a transfer to the Nerazzurri but the switch never materialised.
He eventually made his first appearance of the season in Atalanta’s 3-0 triumph over Torino on Sunday, coming on for Ghana’s Kamaldeen Sulemana in the closing minutes.
Juric revealed that he held a constructive conversation with the 27-year-old last week, stressing that the player now needs to focus on regaining full fitness.
“He (Lookman) spoke to me and the team on Monday, he was surrounded by people who had given him some bad advice,” Juric told Tuttomercatoweb.com.
“He has a great winning mentality and now we need to get him back in shape physically.”
The victory against Torino marked Atalanta’s second win of the Serie A campaign.
The Bergamo outfit are currently fifth in the table, collecting eight points from their opening four matches.
