Lookman eyes return to top form after goal against Milan

Super Eagles striker, Ademola Lookman, has said he is focused on regaining his best form after netting a crucial equaliser in Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan on Tuesday night.

The Nigerian forward, who had endured a slow start to the campaign, opened his goal account for the season with a fine strike in Bergamo to rescue a point for La Dea.

Milan had earlier taken the lead through Samuele Ricci, but Lookman’s well-taken effort ensured Atalanta avoided defeat. The goal was his first since a failed move to Inter during the summer transfer window.

Reflecting on his performance, Lookman expressed satisfaction with his contribution while stressing the need to keep improving.

“It’s important to be available for the team, to help the team,” Lookman told DAZN Italia.

“I’ve not been able to find form yet, physically or in front of goal, but I’ll get there eventually and this was a step forward in the right direction. Hopefully in the coming games we’ll be able to get some wins.”

Despite scoring, the winger opted for a muted celebration, a gesture that hinted at lingering tension with the club following the transfer saga.

“I think that when I’m on the pitch, the most important thing is to try to help the team win. We want to keep climbing up the table and that’s the most important thing, to win football games,” he added.
