Ligue 1: Toulouse beat Strasbourg 2-1 in comeback win

Toulouse came from behind to beat Strasbourg 2-1, with Sam Amo-Ameyaw giving the visitors the lead in the 27th minute after a brilliant solo run ended with a curling finish into the far corner.

Strasbourg had started brightly and made their pressure count through Amo-Ameyaw, but their advantage did not last until the break.

Toulouse responded just before half-time when Dayann Methalie finished a quick counter-attack, latching onto a long ball and calmly beating Mike Penders.

The match remained finely balanced in the second half, with both sides creating chances in an open contest.

Toulouse nearly edged ahead earlier when Emersonn met a delivery but failed to keep his free header on target.

The decisive moment arrived late on as Emersonn made amends, running onto another long ball over the top before slotting coolly past the Strasbourg goalkeeper to seal the turnaround.

The win gives Toulouse back-to-back league victories over Strasbourg for the first time since 2005, strengthening their push for a top-half finish, while Strasbourg now turn their attention to UEFA Conference League action after a disappointing domestic setback.
