Paris Saint-Germain kept their Ligue 1 title charge alive with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Auxerre on Matchday 19, as Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola combined late on to snatch all three points and maintain the pressure on leaders Lens.
PSG in Control, But Goal Proved Elusive
Luis Enrique’s side dominated proceedings from the opening whistle, enjoying the lion’s share of possession and pinning Auxerre deep in their own half.
Despite their control, PSG struggled to convert their superiority into goals, with early efforts from Gonçalo Ramos and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia failing to find the net.
Auxerre stood firm for much of the contest, producing a disciplined defensive display in front of their home fans.
The hosts limited PSG to half-chances and offered little threat themselves, as clear-cut opportunities remained scarce on both ends.
Dembélé Changes the Game
The turning point arrived when Ousmane Dembélé was introduced from the bench. The Ballon d’Or winner brought urgency, speed and imagination to PSG’s attack, instantly raising the tempo.
With around ten minutes remaining, Dembélé unlocked the Auxerre defence with a perfectly timed through ball.
Bradley Barcola raced onto the pass and showed great composure to slot home the decisive goal, securing a narrow but crucial win for the Parisians.
The result keeps PSG firmly in the title race as the battle at the top of Ligue 1 continues to intensify.
