The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced that his burial will take place on June 18, 2026, in Abia State, following a series of funeral rites scheduled across Lagos and his hometown.
Ekubo reportedly died on May 11 after a battle with kidney cancer, according to a statement released by the family.
In an obituary notice shared on his official Instagram page, the family requested continued prayers and support as they mourn the late actor, his wife, and relatives.
The funeral programme indicates that a service of songs will hold on June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with attendees expected to dress in white.
A wake-keep is scheduled for June 17 at his family compound located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The burial ceremony and interment will follow on June 18, 2026, with the funeral service set to take place at Mary Slessor School in Arochukwu.
According to the arrangements, the interment will also be held at the family residence in Arochukwu immediately after the service.
A reception will follow the burial at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, where guests are also expected to wear white attire.
The family described the period as a painful loss and appealed for privacy and continued prayers as they prepare to lay the actor to rest.
