The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced deadlines for the completion of the 2025/2026 admission exercise for tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The decision was reached on Monday during the 2026 JAMB Annual Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja.
According to resolutions adopted at the meeting, all public universities are expected to conclude their admission processes on or before October 31, 2026.
Private universities were also directed to complete their admissions not later than November 30, 2026, while polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education have until December 31, 2026, to conclude their admission exercises.
The policy meeting, which had in attendance vice-chancellors, rectors and other stakeholders in the education sector, focused on improving the admission process and ensuring a uniform admission timeline across tertiary institutions nationwide.
The board said the timelines were part of efforts to streamline admissions and strengthen coordination among institutions in the country.
