Iran’s tallest bridge destroyed – Trump

United States President, Donald Trump, announced on Thursday that Iran’s tallest bridge had been destroyed, just hours after threatening to bomb the country “back to the Stone Ages.”

Trump shared footage on social media showing smoke rising from the B1 bridge in Karaj, located about 20 miles (35 kilometers) southwest of Tehran, warning that more destruction would follow unless Iran agreed to negotiate an end to the five-week conflict.

“The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again – Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!” Trump wrote.

Iranian state television earlier reported that the bridge had been hit in two separate US-Israeli strikes.

“A few minutes ago, the American-Zionist enemy once again targeted the B1 bridge in Karaj,” state TV reported, noting that the first strike resulted in two civilian casualties and that the second occurred while emergency responders were assisting victims from the initial attack.

The B1 bridge, still under construction, is said to be the tallest in the Middle East, featuring a 447-foot (136-meter) column, according to Fars/Iranian media.

On Wednesday, Trump addressed the nation, claiming that the war initiated by the United States and Israel on February 28 was nearing its end, while threatening to bomb Iran “extremely hard” if it failed to comply.

“Over the next two to three weeks, we are going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong,” he said in his first prime-time speech on the conflict.
