Tennis star, Jannik Sinner, has admitted to enduring sleepless nights following his heartbreaking defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open final.
The Italian star came agonizingly close to clinching the title at Roland Garros, holding three consecutive match points in the fourth set after taking a two-set lead.
However, Alcaraz mounted an incredible comeback to secure his fifth Grand Slam title in a match widely praised as one of the greatest major finals in tennis history.
Speaking to Tennis TV, Sinner opened up about the emotional aftermath of the loss.
“I had already a few sleepless nights, but I think every day it gets better. My family stand behind me, and my friends. That is the most important thing for me.
“Tennis is important in my life but nevertheless are family and friends more important. Nonetheless I think often about the match,” Sinner shared.
