Brazil recovered from a difficult first half to defeat Australia 4-2 in their second friendly match in Brisbane on Tuesday, but the victory was overshadowed by an injury concern involving captain Raphinha.
The Barcelona forward was substituted at half-time after experiencing discomfort in his right leg, an area where he has previously suffered hamstring and thigh injuries, according to the Brazilian Football Confederation.
Raphinha had helped Brazil restore parity before the break, converting a penalty after Danilo was brought down by Harry Souttar.
His withdrawal, however, did not prevent Brazil from taking control in the second half.
Brazil had taken an early lead through Vanderson, who scored his first international goal after just three minutes.
Australia responded through Alessandro Circati, who converted from a Connor Metcalfe corner before Metcalfe himself put the hosts ahead with a long-range strike.
Brazil made seven changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Australia in their first meeting on Friday, including replacing their entire defence.
The changes appeared to unsettle the visitors during the opening half.
The game became more heated after the interval when Endrick, introduced as Raphinha’s replacement, was involved in a confrontation with Souttar following a series of challenges.
Endrick was later instrumental in Brazil’s third goal.
The Real Madrid forward raced down the left before delivering a cross for Bruno Guimaraes, who finished in the 69th minute to put Brazil back in front.
Vinicius Jr then sealed the victory from the penalty spot in the 80th minute after Nestory Irankunda was adjudged to have fouled him inside the box.
Brazil will now travel to Kolkata for a friendly against India on Saturday, while Australia will reflect on a second defeat after initially holding the South Americans to a 1-1 draw.
