FAAN warns against fake recruitment offers

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has warned members of the public against a fraudulent recruitment scheme involving fake employment offers allegedly issued in its name.

FAAN, in a statement posted on X on Thursday, said it was not conducting any recruitment exercise and had no connection with a purported “Letter of Provisional Offer of Employment” currently being circulated by unauthorised individuals.

The airport authority urged job seekers and other members of the public to disregard the offers and avoid engaging with those behind them.

“FAAN wishes to state categorically that the Authority is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise and disassociates itself from this letter and any related employment offers,” the statement said.

FAAN further cautioned the public against making payments or sharing sensitive personal information with anyone claiming to be offering employment on behalf of the authority.

“Members of the public are advised not to make payments, provide personal information, or engage with individuals issuing such offers.”

The authority advised members of the public to verify recruitment information through its official communication channels before taking any action.

“All authentic information regarding recruitment will be communicated through FAAN’s official channels,” FAAN said.

The agency also urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, noting that responding to unauthorised employment offers could expose unsuspecting individuals to financial losses or identity fraud.
