Ex-Italian striker Ventola urges Roma to sign Lookman in January

Former Italy forward, Nicola Ventola, has called on AS Roma to make a move for Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman when the January transfer window opens.

Lookman had reportedly sought a move to Inter Milan from Atalanta during the summer, even submitting a transfer request before going absent without leave for a few weeks.

The 27-year-old, however, was later reintegrated into the Atalanta squad last month.

Despite his return, speculation continues to swirl that the winger could still depart Bergamo in January.

Ventola believes Roma should make an effort to bring Lookman under manager Gian Piero Gasperini once again.

“I think they’ll try. Lookman can change the team,” Ventola was quoted as saying by Football Italia.

“If you have Lookman on one side and Soulé on the other, then Dovbyk would not struggle that much. I think Gasperini isn’t happy with what he has.

“He’s working, but his objective is to improve the team with more suitable players for his playing style. This is not his team.”
