Bundesliga: Kane misses penalty as Bayern, Dortmund draw 2-2

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Der Klassiker on Saturday, with England captain Harry Kane missing a penalty as both sides shared the points.

Bayern took the lead shortly before the interval through Konrad Laimer, who capitalised on a rebound after his initial effort was saved.

Dortmund responded after the break when Serhou Guirassy fired a low effort beyond Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig to restore parity.

Kane had an opportunity to put Bayern ahead early in the second half but failed to convert from the penalty spot, sending his effort against the crossbar.

The hosts eventually regained the lead six minutes after Dortmund’s equaliser, with Dayot Upamecano heading home from close range following a knockdown by Kane.

Bayern came close to extending their advantage when Kane was set up by Nathaniel Brown, but the England forward struck the crossbar again.

Dortmund continued to push for another goal and were rewarded in the 89th minute when substitute Fabio Silva fired past Urbig to secure a valuable point for the visitors.

Bayern almost snatched a late winner in stoppage time, but Lennart Karl’s effort also came back off the crossbar.
