Eintracht Frankfurt came from behind to snatch a late 2-2 draw against Paderborn in their Bundesliga clash at the Home Deluxe Arena on Saturday, with Jonathan Burkardt scoring twice, including a stoppage-time equaliser.

Burkardt opened the scoring for Frankfurt in the 23rd minute after finishing a move initiated by Farès Chaïbi, who delivered from the right flank.

Paderborn restored parity just before half-time through Raphael Obermair, who converted from a corner situation following good work by Ruben Müller to make it 1-1 at the break.

The hosts took the lead for the first time in the 73rd minute when Marvin Pieringer converted a penalty after Lilian Brassier was penalised for a foul.

Frankfurt’s hopes of getting back into the game suffered another setback two minutes later when Elias Baum was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, leaving the visitors with 10 men.

However, Frankfurt refused to give up and found a dramatic equaliser in the 90+3rd minute.

Burkardt reacted quickest to a corner and found the net to complete his brace and rescue a point for the visitors.

The result came despite Paderborn creating several promising opportunities, while Frankfurt showed resilience to fight back, particularly after Baum’s dismissal.
