French Ligue 1 side Lyon extended their unbeaten start to the season to five matches after cruising to a 4-0 victory over Rennes on Saturday.
Ghana international, Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring in the seventh minute, finishing from close range after being played through by Corentin Tolisso.
Nuamah doubled Lyon’s advantage in the 30th minute when he capitalised on Pavel Sulc’s through ball and found the net again to complete his brace.
Lyon continued their dominance after the break, with Zachary Athekame making it 3-0 three minutes into the second half after turning home from close range.
Tolisso completed the scoring in the 76th minute, firing into the top-left corner following a cut-back from Athekame.
Lyon recorded nine shots on target from 15 attempts, while Rennes enjoyed 54.7 per cent possession but managed only four efforts on target from 13 attempts.
The result keeps Lyon second in Ligue 1, with Rennes left to regroup ahead of their home fixture against Auxerre.
Lyon will travel to face Lens in their next league outing.
