Iran has 22% missile stockpile left, says Trump

United States President, Donald Trump, has said Iran still retains around “21, 22 per cent” of its missile stockpile, offering an updated estimate of Tehran’s remaining capacity amid ongoing regional tensions and a fragile ceasefire environment.

Speaking in an interview with NBC News, Trump said, “They still have capacity. They have some missiles, they have some drones. I would say, percentage wise, maybe 21, 22 percent of their missiles,” referring to Iran’s remaining arsenal.

He noted that the latest figure marks a revision from his earlier assessment in May, when he estimated Iran’s remaining missile capacity at about 18 percent.

Trump has repeatedly maintained that Iran’s broader war-fighting capability has been significantly weakened.

Tensions in the region continued on Friday after Iran’s military claimed it fired “warning missiles” at two US destroyers in the Gulf of Oman.

However, the United States military swiftly denied the allegation, saying no such attack took place.

In a separate development earlier in the week, Kuwait said it intercepted 30 ballistic missiles it described as part of “heinous Iranian aggression,” further highlighting ongoing concerns over escalating missile activity and disputed cross-border strikes in the region.
