The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has clarified reasons some candidates are encountering a “No Result Yet” message while checking their 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board explained that the situation mainly affects underage candidates whose results are yet to be released.
The statement noted, “Results for underage candidates have not been released. When such candidates attempt to check their results, the system will return the message ‘No Result Yet.’”
JAMB reaffirmed that the minimum age requirement for UTME registration remains 16 years by September 30, 2026.
It stated, “As stipulated by regulation, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30th September 2026 are eligible to register and sit for the UTME.”
However, the board acknowledged that exceptions exist for exceptionally gifted candidates who fall below the age requirement.
According to the statement, “Underage candidates may be considered under the exceptional category, provided they demonstrate outstanding ability by scoring 320 and above in the UTME and achieving at least 80 per cent in subsequent screening stages.”
JAMB further explained that only candidates who meet the required benchmark will proceed to the next stage of assessment.
“In line with the agreement reached and endorsed by parents of these underage candidates, only those who score 320 and above will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next stages of the screening,” it added.
The board maintained that results of underage candidates will remain on hold until the completion of the screening process.
