The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has announced a revision to the reporting time for candidates taking the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, especially those assigned to the first session.

In a statement shared on its official X account on Monday, the board disclosed that candidates for the first session are now expected to be at their centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the previously announced 6:30 a.m.

JAMB further explained that the exam will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.

“Attention 2026 UTME candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00 a.m. as against the earlier published 6:30 a.m., while the start time is 8:30 a.m. and end time 10:30 a.m.,” the board stated.

According to the examination body, the updated schedule features four sessions daily from Monday through Friday, a structure designed to enhance the smooth conduct of Computer-Based Test operations across the country.

It added that the adjustment was made following concerns from candidates and parents about the difficulties of early morning movement, including transportation challenges and safety considerations.

The board also clarified that candidates do not need to reprint their examination slips as a result of the change.

The 2026 UTME is set to take place between Thursday, April 16 and Saturday, April 25, 2026.
