Kwankwaso announced his resignation on Monday via a statement shared on his verified Facebook page, confirming his exit from the Kano State Executive Council.

In the statement, he described the decision as a difficult one, while expressing appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve in the administration.

“I am sincerely grateful to His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the confidence he placed in me. Serving the people of Kano State has been an honour, and the lessons gained during this period will remain with me,” Kwankwaso stated.

The former commissioner also expressed optimism about the future of youth empowerment and sports development in Kano, urging sustained government commitment to the sector.
