Carrick sparks new mentality at Man Utd – Dorgu

Manchester United wing-back, Patrick Dorgu, has credited new manager Michael Carrick for instilling a fresh mindset within the squad following his arrival at Old Trafford.

Carrick, who recently took over from Ruben Amorim, enjoyed an impressive start to his reign with a 2–0 derby victory over Manchester City on Saturday, setting an encouraging tone for his tenure.

Reacting after the match, Dorgu told the club’s official website that the former United midfielder has already made a noticeable impact on the players, particularly in terms of attitude and approach.

“We’ve got a new coach and it’s been really good for us. We have had really good workouts with him and everyone is positive.

“You could also see that from the first minute, how we came out to the fight and everyone was ready.

“It hasn’t really changed, but it’s just the intensity and the way he wants us to play. He just wants us to be forward-looking all the time, and you could see that here.

“It’s not about changes, but about the mentality as a group.”

Dorgu noted that while the tactical setup remains largely familiar, Carrick’s emphasis on intensity and proactive football has lifted the team’s collective spirit, a shift that was evident in their commanding derby performance.
