Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi, will be sidelined for Nigeria’s crucial AFCON 2025 semi-final against hosts Morocco.
Ndidi picked up his second yellow card of the knockout stages in Nigeria’s 2-0 quarter-final win over Algeria, having earlier been cautioned in the Round of 16 clash with Mozambique.
The booking in the 67th minute against the Desert Foxes now rules him out of the last-four showdown.
Raphael Onyedika of Club Brugge is set to step into the midfield in Ndidi’s absence when the Super Eagles face Morocco next Wednesday in Rabat.
Morocco reached the semi-finals after defeating Cameroon 2-0, setting up a tantalizing clash with Nigeria.
