Lille squandered a chance to move into third place after a 2-0 home defeat to sixth-placed Rennes.

The match turned against the hosts early when defender Alexsandro was shown a red card in the 13th minute for blocking striker Breel Embolo near the edge of the area.

Rennes capitalized in the second half through Przemyslaw Frankowski and Quentin Merlin, sealing the win.
Wahi Shines on Nice Debut

Newly appointed Nice coach Claude Puel witnessed an immediate impact from loan signing Elye Wahi, who netted in just eight minutes on his debut to secure a 1-1 draw with Strasbourg.

Argentine striker Joaquín Panichelli had put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot in the 13th.

Wahi, who has struggled for goals since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Marseille, delivered a clinical finish to lift Nice, who are still chasing their first Ligue 1 victory since October 29.

Lens Maintain Ligue 1 Lead
Lens cruised to a 3-0 win over Toulouse on Friday, maintaining top spot ahead of Paris Saint-Germain. PSG, in second place, will host struggling Paris FC on Sunday in the first Paris derby in French men’s football since 1990.
