EPL: Chelsea draw Bournemouth in four-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge

Stamford Bridge witnessed a frenetic opening as Chelsea and Bournemouth shared four goals in the first half-hour, ending in a 2-2 draw that leaves Enzo Maresca’s side with just one Premier League victory in their last seven matches.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth extended their winless league streak to ten games, despite having claimed only three away points since August.

The visitors stunned the home crowd just six minutes in. A long throw into the box was flicked on to David Brooks, whose header ricocheted off Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and allowed the Welshman to bundle in the rebound for an early lead.

Chelsea responded quickly, earning a penalty in the 15th minute after Antoine Semenyo’s challenge brought Estevao down in the area. VAR confirmed the spot-kick, and Cole Palmer calmly converted, sending Djordje Petrovic the wrong way.

Brooks came close to restoring Bournemouth’s lead moments later, only for Sanchez to block his attempt, as the match raced end-to-end.

Chelsea then took the lead midway through the first half when Enzo Fernandez combined with Alejandro Garnacho, maneuvered past defenders, and fired into the top corner.

Yet Bournemouth fought back immediately. Trevor Chalobah’s misjudged clearance allowed Justin Kluivert a simple finish, completing a remarkable flurry of four goals in just 27 minutes. Liam Delap, Alex Jimenez, and Semenyo all had chances before halftime, but the score remained level at the break.

The second half began at a slower pace, with neither side testing the goal until Petrovic tipped an Estevao effort wide in the 64th minute.

The Brazilian teenager remained a constant threat, creating space and cutting back for Delap, whose shot was deflected away. Chelsea continued to push forward, but Fernandez couldn’t replicate his first-half precision when he found himself in a similar position.

In the end, Bournemouth secured a hard-earned point, avoiding defeat on the road for the seventh consecutive away match, while Chelsea saw yet another 13 points slip from winning positions this season.
