Former England midfielder, Jamie Redknapp, has urged Liverpool to show patience with manager Arne Slot, despite their 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.
The unexpected loss leaves Liverpool in 11th place in the Premier League, perilously closer to the relegation zone than last season’s title challengers, Arsenal, who currently top the table.
In recent weeks, the Reds’ form has raised concerns, having lost eight of their last 11 matches across all competitions, including five of their last six in the league.
This poor run has prompted calls from fans for Slot’s dismissal.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp believes the Dutch manager deserves continued support given his achievements last season.
“They [Liverpool] need to be patient, Arne Slot deserves that after last year,” he said.
