UCL: Lautaro scores brace as Inter thrash Slavia 3-0

Lautaro Martínez struck twice as Inter Milan cruised past Slavia Prague with a 3-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League.

The Inter captain opened the scoring on the half-hour mark and later wrapped up the win in the second half, while Denzel Dumfries also found the net to secure a second successive group-stage triumph for Simone Inzaghi’s men after their opening win over Ajax.

The visitors started brightly, creating several early chances. Marcus Thuram twice saw efforts blocked before Dumfries sent a powerful attempt over the bar.

Martínez also glanced a header off target but made amends in the 30th minute, capitalizing on goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek’s poor clearance to calmly slot into an empty net.

Inter doubled their advantage just four minutes later with a sweeping move initiated by Francesco Acerbi.

The defender surged forward and linked up with Thuram, whose clever pass released Dumfries to fire home from close range.

Although the second half began at a slower tempo, Inter maintained control. Martínez tested Stanek again before Stepán Chaloupek denied Petar Sucic with a superb sliding tackle.

The third goal eventually came in the 65th minute, when Alessandro Bastoni’s precise low cross was turned in by Martínez for his brace.

Slavia threatened only fleetingly, with Yann Sommer saving well from Muhammed Cham’s curling free-kick. Inter nearly added a fourth late on through young forward Pio Esposito, who headed narrowly over.

The result leaves Inter firmly in command of their group after back-to-back wins.
