Tudor to stay as Juventus head coach

Newly appointed General Manager of Juventus, Damien Comolli, officially confirmed that Igor Tudor will continue as head coach past the upcoming Club World Cup.

Comolli made his first public appearance since joining the Bianconeri, speaking to Italian media during a press conference held at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday.

Tudor, who stepped in for Thiago Motta in March, earned a contract extension until 2026 after guiding the team to Champions League qualification.

Despite the automatic renewal, Juventus retain the option to part ways with the Croatian tactician for a €1 million termination clause valid until July 31, 2025.

The club had reportedly explored alternatives, including discussions with Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini.

Putting speculation to rest, Comolli confirmed Tudor will remain at the helm.

“I can confirm Tudor will be the coach for the next campaign, beyond the Club World Cup,” Comolli stated via Ilbianconero.com.

Comolli, whose football background spans from Chief Scout to President roles, most recently served as Toulouse President before joining Juventus.

His previous experiences include encounters with Tudor in France’s Ligue 1.

“The year Tudor was at Marseille beat us twice,” he recalled.

“We laughed about this. I told him: ‘Do you remember what I told you after those games?’ There weren’t many coaches who could keep that intensity and mental strength, and he remembered it.

Comolli praised Tudor’s tenure at Marseille, emphasizing the energy and resilience his side showed throughout the campaign.

“He made exceptional work at Marseille, their intensity and mental strength were outstanding that season.”

With the backing of the new General Manager, Tudor now looks set to guide Juventus into the next chapter, including a return to Europe’s top competition and their Club World Cup campaign.
