The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, while announcing the withholding of 39,834 results over suspected examination misconduct.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the disclosure during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.
He stated that the withheld results are under investigation due to alleged involvement in various forms of malpractice.
“In total, 39,834 results are currently being withheld for further scrutiny,” Oloyede said. “These actions are necessary to uphold the integrity and credibility of our examination process.”
He further revealed that 80 individuals are under investigation for examination-related offences, with Anambra State recording the highest number of suspects at 14.
Prof. Oloyede also disclosed that 467 underage candidates surpassed the minimum cut-off mark required for admission, while 50 others were linked to confirmed cases of examination fraud.
“The Board is committed to ensuring that only qualified and deserving candidates are considered for admission into tertiary institutions,” he added.
The registrar urged candidates to remain vigilant against fraudsters and assured the public that biometric verification measures have been deployed across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to verify the identities of over 1.8 million candidates.
