A group of protesters who took to the streets of Gusau, Zamfara state capital, on Monday, waving Russian flags have called on President Vladimir Putin to intervene in Nigeria’s affairs.
The protesters, who carried leaves and Russian flags, chanted songs and slogans as they marched peacefully through the streets.
They hinted that significance of the Russian flags, was a symbol of their grievances and a call for urgent attention from President Putin to rescue the country from its current challenges, according to Daily Post.
The protesters emphasized that their demonstration was peaceful and aimed at bringing their grievances to the attention of the government, rather than causing violence or destruction.
They also criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent broadcast, describing it as empty and provocative.
The unusual display of Russian flags has sparked curiosity and raised questions about the protesters’ intentions and motivations.
Asked why they were carrying Russian flags, they said the reason was to indicate the country’s grievances and need an urgent response from President Putin to come and rescue the country from its present predicament.
