President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the green light for the full disbursement of bonuses and allowances to the Super Falcons ahead of their much-anticipated clash with hosts Morocco in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, Shehu Dikko, revealed that all necessary funds have already been released for immediate payment to both players and officials.
Dikko emphasized that the move reflects the Tinubu administration’s renewed dedication to the welfare of Nigerian athletes.
“This is the kind of sports administration we are building, one rooted in dignity, trust, and shared prosperity,” Dikko told reporters.
“Future generations would appreciate President Tinubu’s reforms in the sports sector.”
The Super Falcons will lock horns with Morocco on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
While the Atlas Lionesses are hoping to clinch their first-ever WAFCON title, having narrowly lost to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the last edition, Nigeria is aiming to secure a historic tenth continental crown.
