UCL: Mbappé bags four goals as Real Madrid edge Olympiacos 4-3 in comeback win

Kylian Mbappé produced a breathtaking performance on Wednesday, firing four goals, including the second-fastest hat-trick in Champions League history, achieved in just eight minutes, to inspire Real Madrid to a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over Olympiacos.

Chiquinho had given the hosts an early eighth-minute advantage, but Mbappé swiftly turned the game on its head.

He levelled in the 22nd minute after bursting past two defenders to meet a Vinicius Jr pass, before heading in an Arda Güler delivery moments later.

The French star completed his rapid treble with another clinical finish that left the Greek side stunned.

Real continued to threaten, with Aurélien Tchouaméni rattling the woodwork before halftime. Olympiacos, however, clawed their way back when Mehdi Taremi nodded in seven minutes after the break.

Mbappé restored Real’s cushion with a simple tap-in from another Vinicius assist, but Ayoub El Kaabi’s 81st-minute header set up a tense finale.

Despite heavy late pressure from the hosts, Madrid held on to end a three-game winless run.

The victory lifts them to fifth in the league-phase standings with 12 points from five matches, keeping them well on course for automatic progression to the knockout stage. Olympiacos remain 33rd with just two points.
