UCL: Kane, Karl shine as Bayern thrash Club Brugge 4-0

England captain Harry Kane continued his blistering form on Wednesday night, netting his 20th goal of the season as Bayern Munich cruised to a commanding 4-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League group stage at the Allianz Arena.

The remaining goals came from Nicolas Jackson, Luis Díaz, and teenage sensation Lennart Karl, who set a new club record with his strike.

Bayern wasted no time asserting their dominance, and it was 17-year-old Karl who opened the scoring with a moment of brilliance in the fifth minute.

The youngster received the ball near midfield, glided past two defenders, and fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

His goal made him the youngest player ever to score for Bayern in the Champions League, breaking Jamal Musiala’s previous record.

Nine minutes later, Kane was on hand to double the lead, slotting home from close range after a fine assist from Konrad Laimer.

The goal marked Kane’s 20th of the campaign in just 12 matches across all competitions—a milestone Lionel Messi reached in 17 games at his fastest, while Cristiano Ronaldo needed 13.

Bayern’s relentless attack continued, and in the 31st minute, Díaz added a third with a well-worked move down the left. After exchanging passes with Laimer, the Colombian cut inside and rifled the ball past the helpless Brugge goalkeeper.

In the second half, Bayern eased off the gas, allowing Brugge more possession but rarely conceding danger.

Manager Vincent Kompany opted to rest Kane in the 69th minute, replacing him with Jackson.

The move paid off almost immediately, as the substitute struck six minutes later to complete the rout.

While Kane and Karl earned the headlines, Laimer was arguably Bayern’s standout performer.

The Austrian right-back not only provided two assists but also delivered a tireless defensive display, nullifying Brugge’s wing threats all night.

For the visitors, it was a night to forget. Their defence looked disorganized and overwhelmed, offering Bayern’s attackers far too much space.

By the time the final whistle blew, the Belgian champions were left chasing shadows as the German giants reaffirmed their status as serious contenders in Europe.
