Tottenham Hotspur were rescued by a dramatic 89th-minute own goal from Jostein Gundersen as they secured a 2-2 draw away at Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League.
The north Norwegian side looked set to get the better of Spurs at Aspmyra Stadion, four months after Tottenham’s Europa League semifinal triumph there.
Bodo dominated large portions of the match and even survived a missed penalty from Kasper Høgh in the first half.
The hosts seemed on course for revenge when Jens Petter Haugh struck twice shortly after the interval, giving Bodo a two-goal advantage.
Tottenham, however, showed resilience. Stand-in captain Micky van de Ven pulled one back in the 68th minute, keeping Spurs in the contest.
The decisive moment came late when Gundersen inadvertently diverted Archie Gray’s shot past his own goalkeeper, Nikita Haikin, handing Spurs a lifeline and their fourth point in the group stage. Despite the draw, Bodo manager Kjetil Knutsen was left to rue his team’s inability to convert their dominant display into a win.
