Arsenal could be without Leandro Trossard for Sunday’s pivotal London derby against Chelsea after the winger limped off during the Gunners’ 3-1 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, according to Independent.
Trossard exited the pitch just before half-time, appearing uncomfortable in his left leg, after receiving treatment from Arsenal’s medical team.
He briefly spoke with manager Mikel Arteta before heading down the tunnel. Arteta later said, “With Leo, we don’t know [the extent of his injury]. He said he felt something. We didn’t want to take any risk, obviously.”
The potential absence of Trossard is a setback for Arteta, who has guided Arsenal to the summit of both the Premier League and Champions League despite ongoing injury challenges.
Noni Madueke came on to replace Trossard against Bayern and netted Arsenal’s second goal, while Gabriel Martinelli returned in the second half to score the third. Captain Martin Odegaard also made a late comeback.
However, Arsenal continue to be without Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes ahead of the derby.
