Bruno Guimaraes, has made winning major trophies a priority after completing his £75 million move from Newcastle United to Arsenal.
The Brazil international, who joined the Gunners earlier this month on a four-year contract with an option for another season, is determined to add more silverware to his collection after winning the Carabao Cup with Newcastle.
At 28, Guimaraes is particularly eager to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League, with Arsenal looking to build on their success last season.
“I just want to win no matter what and, like I said, I am so competitive. Everything for me is important.
“But yeah, I would say the Premier League and Champions League would be very special.
“I have a lot of space for trophies. I don’t know where they (the tattoos) would go, on my legs probably.”
Guimaraes played a key role in Newcastle’s historic domestic triumph, helping the club win their first major trophy in 70 years.
Now, the midfielder hopes his arrival can help Arsenal maintain their position at the top of English football while also making a serious push for European success.
His immediate start at the club, however, has been interrupted by a minor groin problem sustained during the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta opted not to risk his new signing in Friday’s match after revealing that Guimaraes had not completed a full pre-season.
“He had a slight tension in his groin, he hasn’t done a pre-season,” Arteta said.
“He had only four or five days before that game. It is a lot of new stuff for him as well, and we need to take it bit-by-bit.”
With his sights firmly set on more trophies, Guimaraes will hope to make a full return soon and play a central role in Arsenal’s pursuit of domestic and European honours.
