American singer and actress Selena Gomez has disclosed that her past nicotine vaping habit affected her voice, while acknowledging the difficulty of overcoming the addiction.
The 34-year-old entertainer made the revelation in a video shared on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, October 18, 2026, addressing questions from fans about changes in her speaking voice.
Gomez admitted that she had vaped nicotine frequently and expressed regret over the habit.
“I’m not gonna be able to change my voice,” she said, before acknowledging, “I vaped nicotine a lot.”
The singer also spoke about the challenges of quitting nicotine, warning her followers against taking up the habit.
“Nicotine is so hard to quit,” she said.
“It’s just not worth it.”
Gomez described vaping as a mistake and encouraged people to reconsider using nicotine products because of the difficulties associated with dependence.
Despite the challenges, the actress disclosed that she had stopped vaping and was determined to remain nicotine-free.
Her comments come after previous discussions about changes in her voice. During an Instagram Live session in December 2025, Gomez told fans that her throat sometimes became swollen, although she did not attribute the issue to vaping at the time.
Her latest disclosure has renewed conversations on social media about nicotine addiction and the challenges people face when trying to quit.
Gomez, known for her role in the television series Only Murders in the Building, also urged her followers to avoid starting the habit and encouraged those attempting to quit to persevere.
