Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney has expressed admiration for Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, praising his commitment since arriving at the club this summer.
Gyokeres has made a strong start to life at the Emirates, scoring four goals in his first ten Premier League appearances.
He has also contributed two goals in the Champions League, both coming against Atletico Madrid.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Video Sport, Rooney highlighted the Swedish forward’s determination and impact on the team.
“I’d probably go Gyokeres I think,” Rooney told Amazon Prime Video Sport.
“Arsenal have been crying out for a number nine for a few years now and he’s come in and his work rate, his determination, his hold-up play and obviously scoring a few goals as well.”
