The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase draw will take place on Thursday, with 36 clubs waiting to discover their opponents as the road to European football’s biggest prize begins.
Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain will headline Pot One after claiming the continental title last season, alongside several of Europe’s leading clubs.
UEFA confirmed on Wednesday that the draw will comprise four pots, with nine teams placed in each pot.
Pot One features Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
PSG will enter the draw as holders, while the presence of Bayern, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter, City, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico makes the opening pot particularly formidable.
Pot Two is equally packed with notable names, including Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting, Aston Villa, Porto, Manchester United, Club Brugge, Real Betis and PSV Eindhoven.
English clubs have a strong presence in the draw, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal occupying Pot One, while Aston Villa and Manchester United are in Pot Two. No English side features in either Pot Three or Pot Four.
The third pot consists of Feyenoord, Lille, Bodo/Glimt, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Shakhtar Donetsk and Galatasaray.
Slavia Prague, Slovan Bratislava, VfB Stuttgart, AEK Athens, LASK, Como, Lens, Viking Stavanger and Sabah make up Pot Four.
The draw will determine the league-phase fixtures for all 36 teams and could produce several high-profile European encounters.
UEFA said the draw is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, at 6pm CET, when the participating clubs will learn the opponents standing between them and a place in the knockout stages.
