Paris Saint-Germain claimed their first-ever UEFA Super Cup after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 in a penalty shootout, following a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time.

PSG, last season’s UEFA Champions League winners, had trailed 2-0 but mounted a dramatic comeback with two late goals to force penalties.

This victory comes after their recent 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, offering a welcome redemption.

For Tottenham, the game marked another chance at silverware after securing their first trophy since 2008 with a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Spurs struck first when Micky Van de Ven capitalized on a rebound after Joao Palhinha’s initial shot hit the post.

Three minutes into the second half, captain Cristian Romero doubled their advantage by heading in Pedro Porro’s set piece.

Just when it seemed Tottenham had sealed the win, PSG fought back. Lee Kang-in pulled one back with a precise low left-foot strike, and in the 94th minute, substitute Gonzalez Ramos leveled the score, nodding home Ousmane Dembele’s cross.

The penalty shootout began with Spurs 2-0 up after Vitinha missed PSG’s opening attempt.

However, Luis Enrique’s side rallied, eventually taking the lead before left-back Nuno Mendes converted the decisive spot kick to secure the historic win.
