Former Nigerian forward, John Utaka, has declared his willingness to take charge of the Super Eagles if given the opportunity by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Utaka, who was recently unveiled as head coach of Montpellier’s women’s team in France’s Division 1 Féminine, said in an interview with Brila FM that he would gladly accept the national team job should the NFF reach out to him.

“If the NFF calls me, I’ll be glad to come.

“The job is to coach the players to the maximum,” he stated.

The ex-Portsmouth attacker made 48 appearances for Nigeria, netting six goals.

He was part of the squad that clinched third place at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and also featured in two FIFA World Cups, 2002 in Korea/Japan and 2010 in South Africa.
