Ibon Air: Come for confession, Priests advises those rewatching passenger’s nude

Catholic priest, Emmanuel Ehioma, has urged people who repeatedly replayed the now-viral Ibom Air passenger incident to seek confession, warning that doing so crosses a moral boundary.

Ehioma’s caution follows the circulation of videos showing Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on an Ibom Air flight, striking a flight attendant and confronting airport security personnel.

The airline has since barred her from flying with them over the altercation.

In the first clips posted on X, Emmanson’s shirt appeared torn during the dispute. Later footage revealed her being forcibly removed from the aircraft, her clothes further ripped, leaving her breasts exposed as she tried to cover herself.

The Nigerian Bar Association has condemned the release of the “unedited” video, calling for the prosecution of those responsible for filming and sharing it.

Writing on Facebook on Tuesday, Ehioma noted that people who viewed the video for the first time were not at fault, as they had no idea what it contained.

“But if you went back to watch it again, you have to go for confession,” he said.

“This post doesn’t need to make you feel good,” the priest added, likening the act to watching pornography or other obscene material.

“The second, third, fourth and other times you went back to watch that video were because of your hunger to see her nude and feel good about it, just the same way you act towards porns,” he said.

“It is really regrettable to see husbands, fathers and even wives and mothers, describing a lady’s breasts. It felt so terrible.

“Kindly meet your Priest and confess to the Lord.”

The NBA said it would offer Emmanson free legal representation to safeguard her rights and pursue redress for the violation she suffered.
