Prince William marks 44th birthday on Father’s Day

The family of the Prince of Wales has released a new photograph of Prince William alongside his daughter, Princess Charlotte, to celebrate both his 44th birthday and Father’s Day.

In the image, Prince William is seen wearing his Welsh Guards ceremonial uniform next to Charlotte, aged 11.

The photograph was taken in the garden of Kensington Palace shortly after last weekend’s Trooping the Colour.

Accompanying the picture was a family message that read, “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much,” signed by the Princess of Wales and their three children.

Separately, King Charles also extended his congratulations through the official Royal Family Instagram account, sharing an image of himself with William taken at last year’s Earthshot Prize ceremony in Brazil.

Buckingham Palace marked the occasion as well, posting a historic photo of a young Charles standing with his father, the late Prince Philip, both in RAF uniforms.

The post was accompanied by the message: “Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today,”

During his birthday week, Prince William also attended Royal Ascot alongside his wife for the first time since 2023.

The Princess of Wales, Catherine, had not been present at the annual horse racing event since she was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024, later undergoing and completing chemotherapy treatment successfully.

The series of family tributes comes just ahead of a planned UK visit by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are expected to travel with their children, Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, aged five.
