Singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has been released from prison after meeting bail conditions.
Portable’s counsel, Adodo Destiny, confirmed his release to The PUNCH in a text message.
In his words, Adodo said, “Yes, he’s home now. In fact, I am still in his house with my lawyers,”
The Punch Metro had earlier published that he was remanded pending the perfection of his bail conditions.
Portable who was accused of resisting arrest and injuring a police officer, landed in police custody on Friday, March 31, and was subsequently arraigned in court on Monday.
A High Court in Ifo, Ogun State, however, granted the singer bail.
Portable was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 and to provide two sureties with landed properties within the court vicinity.
The court however ruled that the defendant be transferred to the Ilaro Correctional Centre, pending the time his bail requirements were met.
