Controversial Afrobeats singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has protested his loss to Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing bout, alleging that the contest was unfairly judged.
Portable, who spoke in a live video on Instagram shortly after the fight on Saturday, claimed that the outcome did not reflect his performance in the ring.
“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional. He kept strangling me with his long arms and height advantage,” he said.
“I landed several punches—why were they not counted? Even if my punches hit his hand or shoulder, they should still count.”
He also accused the organisers of bias and demanded payment related to the event’s streaming revenue.
“They did ojoro. I want my streaming money, about N200 million. Just pay me before there’s trouble,” he added angrily.
Despite his complaints, Portable downplayed the importance of the title he lost, noting that personal milestones mattered more to him.
“You can buy a belt with money, but you cannot buy a child. My wife just gave birth to a baby boy, and that means more to me than any belt,” he said.
The bout, held at Balmoral Hall in Lagos during the “Chaos in the Ring 4” event, ended in a unanimous decision victory for Carter Efe, with all three judges scoring the contest 30–27 in his favour.
Carter Efe, known for his comedic skits, used his height and reach advantage effectively, controlling the pace of the fight and landing more precise punches across the three rounds.
Before the match, Portable had expressed confidence in securing another win, having previously defeated entertainers like Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in earlier celebrity boxing contests.
“I will use you to collect my third belt,” he had boasted ahead of the fight.
However, Carter Efe dismissed the threat, saying, “One punch and you will fall.”
The victory crowns Carter Efe as the new celebrity boxing champion, ending Portable’s reign in the entertainment boxing scene.
