The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a recruitment notice circulating on social media, describing it as fake and warning Nigerians to disregard it.
The forged document, titled “Nigeria Police Force Recruitment Exercise 2025”, claimed that recruitment would begin on September 22, 2025, inviting applications from SSCE, OND, HND and B.Sc. holders across various disciplines.
It also outlined purported requirements, including age limits, height standards, academic qualifications, and an online application procedure.
However, the police in a statement on Thursday disowned the notice. In a post on its verified X handle, the Force stamped the document “FAKE” across its face, stressing that no such recruitment had been approved.
“The Nigeria Police Force has not announced any recruitment exercise for 2025. The viral publication currently circulating on social media is fake and did not originate from the Force,” the statement read.
The Police Service Commission had earlier cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to fake recruitment adverts. On August 30, PSC spokesman Ikechukwu Ani clarified that the Commission had not commenced any recruitment process.
“The Commission has repeatedly advised young Nigerians aspiring to join the Police to exercise patience and wait for official communication. The current notices in circulation are fictitious, diversionary, and should be ignored,” Ani said.
