Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, has expressed gratitude to the founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, after the cleric surprised him with a new car.
Bassey revealed the gesture in an Instagram post on Friday, explaining that he had intended to spend the day quietly thanking God when he discovered that Eze had secretly worked with his wife to arrange the surprise.
The singer said the unexpected gift left him speechless, adding that Eze insisted on getting him a better vehicle after his wife had suggested one.
According to Bassey, Eze rejected the initial suggestion, telling his wife, “my brother can’t drive that” while insisting that a better car be purchased.
Bassey wrote, “Normally I keep things like this private, but not this one. I want to share this.
“Woke up yesterday just desiring a nice easy day of gratitude to God. Unknown to me my brother and friend @realjerryeze had this holy coup ongoing with my wife.
“Of a truth the surpriser had been surprised. Still don’t know how to really express this in words.
“He insisted on going for the very best when my wife suggested one to get. In His words ‘my brother can’t drive that’.”
The gospel artiste described Eze as an exceptionally generous person, noting that he was aware of other surprises the pastor was preparing for people.
He added, “Pastor Jerry, not only has he done this for me. I know of a couple of other ones like this he is currently planning. The man gives like his life depends on it.”
Bassey also publicly appreciated Eze and prayed that the happiness he had brought to him and his family would return to the pastor and his family many times over.
He said, “And I’m here to publicly say thank you PJ (pastor Jerry) – You know even if you never do this, I’d still love you the same. Thank you Sir. Like I told you, I am speechless. May the smile you have put on my face and family been seen in multiple folds on you and yours in Jesus’ name.”
The singer subsequently asked his followers to join him in appreciating Eze for the surprise.
He wrote, “So please, help me thank him on my behalf. Weary him today with gratitude. Tell him his brother is grateful.”
In another post, Bassey shared a photograph of himself with the new vehicle, again expressing his amazement at the gesture.
“This is how God through @realjerryeze made me feel yesterday – Speehless.
“Pastor Jerry thank you sir. Still stunned.”
