An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun State has ordered the remand of one Taofeek Jimoh at the Ilesa Correctional Centre over the alleged murder of his mother.
The defendant, who appeared in court without legal representation and whose residential address was not disclosed, is facing a charge of murder.
Police Prosecutor, ASP Fatoba Temitope, informed the court that the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on February 19, 2025, at the Oke-Ola area of Osogbo, the state capital.
He alleged that Jimoh physically attacked his mother, Taibat Jimoh, after a disagreement, and the assault ultimately resulted in her death.
According to the prosecution, the act violates Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
Magistrate O. Olatunji, in response to the seriousness of the accusation, ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody.
The case was adjourned until June 17, 2025, for mention.
