The Ogun State Government has approved the recruitment of 1,000 new operatives for the Ogun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, as part of efforts to bolster community-based security across the state.
The Corps Commander, Alade Adedigba, made this known in a statement on Monday, explaining that the recruitment aims to enhance crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and rapid response operations in vulnerable communities.
“Following the approval of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Ogun State Security Network Agency announces the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise for 1,000 additional personnel,” Adedigba said.
“This initiative is part of deliberate efforts to reinforce security operations across the state, particularly in rural communities, border corridors, and other flashpoints requiring heightened surveillance.”
The corps commander stressed that the recruitment process would be merit-based, transparent, and free of charge. He warned the public to be cautious of fraudsters who might demand payment for the exercise.
Interested applicants can submit their applications via the agency’s official website between February 26 and March 13, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will undergo screening from March 23 to April 8, 2026.
This announcement follows previous recruitment efforts, including the enlistment of nearly 1,300 operatives last year and an additional 550 personnel approved in July 2025.
Represented by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun said during a passing-out parade at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Sagamu that the recruitment aligns with his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
“This move supplements the earlier employment of 690 operatives six months ago and reflects our sustained investment in the state’s security framework,” the governor said.
