Ogun clears kara market roadside traders to boost safety, hygiene

In a bid to bolster public safety and uphold environmental hygiene, the Ogun State government has cleared roadside traders operating around the Kara cattle market near Ojodu Berger.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency, Farouk Akintunde, confirmed the enforcement exercise on Wednesday.

He explained that the action was taken to foster a more sanitary and organised environment, while urging traders to make use of officially designated marketplaces.

Akintunde, who also serves as the chairman of the Ogun State Task Force on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, noted that the move is aimed at improving the visual landscape of the area and easing vehicular movement.
