Nigerians to stream BTS comeback show on Net5

After a four-year break and the completion of their compulsory military service, Bangtan Sonyeondan—also popularly known in English as “Beyond The Scene,” or simply BTS—have officially returned as a full group with fans across the world, including those in Nigeria and South Africa, set to tune in for their highly anticipated K-pop comeback livestream.

The group returns with a new album, a Netflix livestream, and a major world tour, marking a fresh chapter for the global K-pop icons.

For years, BTS have remained one of the most influential pop acts globally. The South Korean boy band played a major role in driving the global K-pop wave, breaking streaming records, topping charts, and building one of the most dedicated fanbases in music history.

Now, after years of solo projects and compulsory military service, the seven-member group is reuniting.

Key details of their comeback have been officially confirmed. Their new album, “ARIRANG,” will be released on March 20, 2026, followed by a free comeback concert in Seoul on March 21, 2026, expected to attract about 260,000 fans. Netflix will also stream the concert globally.

BTS, which stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean and is also known as the Bangtan Boys, officially debuted on June 13, 2013, with “No More Dream,” a release that propelled both BTS and later K-pop, onto the global stage.

Every year, BTS marks June 13 with multiple days of celebrations in Seoul, commemorating their debut and journey.

A major fan highlight is the FESTA Dinner, where the members gather to share a meal, read fan letters, and reflect on their year.

The event is streamed on their official YouTube channel, BangtanTV, which has over 82 million subscribers.

The 2022 FESTA Dinner was particularly significant, as the group announced they would pause full-group activities to focus on solo projects and personal growth.

During that broadcast, the members openly discussed exhaustion, identity struggles, and their desire for individual development.

Mandatory military service later followed, a requirement for all South Korean men, including global stars, which made full-group activities impossible.

However, the members continued solo work, each releasing music individually. Jin also collaborated with Coldplay, with his projects receiving global attention from fans and media.

After all members completed military service in June 2025, reunion rumours intensified and were eventually confirmed. A new album, comeback concert, and a world tour of over 80 shows are now scheduled to begin on April 9, 2026.

Netflix has also secured rights to the comeback concert and will release a documentary titled “BTS: The Return” on March 27, featuring exclusive footage from their military service period and preparations for their return.

The group’s loyal fandom, ARMY, has eagerly awaited their reunion since their last group project, the anthology album “Proof,” released in 2022. ARMY stands for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth,” reflecting a deeply engaged and supportive global community.

Despite their superstar status, BTS maintains a close bond with their fans. Even before their agency BigHit Music officially announced the comeback, ARMY Gold Members reportedly received handwritten letters from all seven members, each dated 2026.3.20, the day of their long-awaited return.

In their messages, all members expressed deep emotion. Jung Kook wrote that he missed the fans and hoped they would continue to support the group this year.

RM shared his excitement, saying that no one had been looking forward to it more and that BTS were finally coming back. Jimin added that the year they had all been waiting for had finally arrived.

What the comeback means artistically
“ARIRANG” features 14 tracks that blend traditional Korean influences with modern pop sounds.

The title references a Korean folk song symbolizing reunification, longing, and hope, a deliberate choice following years of separation.

The group told Rolling Stone that the album reflects the collective vision of all members, designed as a unified project that revisits their early musical energy.

After years of solo careers, BTS now aims to merge their matured artistic identities into a cohesive group direction for this new era.

As BTS leader RM told Rolling Stone, the most important thing is “that we’re here together again.”
