NDA extends 78 regular course application deadline to May 15

The Nigerian Defence Academy had announced an extension of the application deadline for its 78 Regular Course, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their registration.

According to a statement released by the academy on Wednesday via its official communication channel and signed by the Registrar, the new closing date has been shifted from April 30, 2026, to May 15, 2026.

“The Nigerian Defence Academy wishes to inform the general public that the closing date for the sale of application forms for the 78 Regular Course has been extended to Friday, May 15, 2026,” the statement read.

The academy also reminded applicants that registration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board remains mandatory. Candidates are required to sit for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and must select the NDA as their first-choice institution to be eligible for admission consideration.

“Applicants seeking admission into the NDA must also apply to JAMB and are required to sit for the 2026 UTME,” the Registrar stated, adding that “candidates must select NDA as their first choice institution to be eligible for consideration.”

The NDA explained that the application process is open to qualified male and female Nigerians who meet the admission requirements.

It further advised candidates to visit the official application portal to generate an Order ID and Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) before paying the ₦7,000 application fee.

“Candidates should log on to the application portal, select ‘Purchase Access Code,’ and follow the instructions to complete their application after payment,” the academy added.

The institution also noted that past questions for the screening exercise are available for purchase at the Academy Registry in Afaka, Kaduna State, to help candidates prepare adequately.

The extension, according to the academy, is aimed at giving applicants who missed the earlier deadline another opportunity to complete their submissions and apply for admission into one of Nigeria’s top military training institutions.
