The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims, with significant cuts recorded across all zones of the country.
The new rates reflect a downward review from the amounts paid during the 2025 pilgrimage.
According to the revised fare structure released on Monday, pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, a reduction of ₦748,104.63 from the ₦8,327,125.59 paid in 2025.
Those in the Northern zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76 for the 2026 exercise, showing a difference of ₦760,915.83 from the previous ₦8,457,685.59.
For intending pilgrims from the Southern zone, the new cost is ₦7,991,141.76, representing a cut of ₦792,943.83 from the ₦8,784,085.59 charged last year.
In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) page, the Commission said the review followed consultations aimed at easing the financial burden on pilgrims.
“This adjustment has been made to make the holy journey more affordable for Nigerian Muslims preparing for the 2026 Hajj,” NAHCON stated.
The Commission also fixed December 5, 2025, as the final payment deadline for all intending pilgrims.
“All intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the deadline to allow for seamless processing and travel arrangements,” the statement added.
